Do I have to be a Pennsylvania resident to Apply?
Do I have to be a US Citizen to apply?
Residents of Pennsylvania that are NOT US Citizens, but do have a GREEN CARD can take this class and get a CCDW Permit.
How old do I have to be?
You must be age 18+ to take the class. Students ages 18, 19, or 20 can take the class and receive the certificate. The certificate is a lifetime certificate so the student can retain it and apply at age 21. So to clarify, anyone age 18+ can take the class but you must be 21+ in order to apply for the permit.
What is the Application Fee for the Pennsylvania permit?
$19 depending on county. Contact your county sheriff for more information.
How Often Does the Permit Expire?
Every five years.
What is the Renewal Fee?
Twenty dollars is the renewal fee and it can be paid to your local sheriff’s office.
Will I be notified when my permit is going to expire?
Yes, one hundred twenty (120) days prior to the expiration date of the license, a written notice of expiration and a renewal form shall be mailed to each licensee.
How long does it take to get the permit after my application has been submitted?
The Pennsylvania State Police shall either issue a license or send a denial notice within 45 days after the date of receipt of a completed application packet.

What is Your Refund Policy? What If I Can’t Attend the Class I Signed Up For?
We will refund students when unable to attend a class they have prepaid for. We ask for prepayment only to have a reliable count of how many students are coming. This has become necessary because we fill most of our classes to capacity. Our full refund policy can be see here.
